Kolkata: A high alert has been sounded in the state of West Bengal following yesterday's arrest of four people, including one SIMI activist, for sabotaging tracks near a railway station. Chief Minister Buddhadeb Dasgupta has asked people to exercise caution. A railway protection force patrol found a number of persons removing the clips from the railway lines yesterday from Chirkunda between Kumardubi and Barakar railway stations on the Grand Chord section of Asansol division of Eastern Railway, and challenged them. The RPF arrested one of the men, Shahidul alias Sajjad Ali, a resident of Gomoh, from the spot who was handed over to the GRP for questioning at Dhanbad, Jharkhand, IG (special branch) G S Rath said here. During interrogation by the police at Dhanbad, Sahidul alias Sajjad Ali of Kureshipara in Gomoh in Jharkhand confessed that he belonged to SIMI and revealed the names his employer and two others all of whom were residents of Gomoh.
