Baghdad, Sept 27: President Saddam Hussein has chaired a meeting of his senior ministers on repeated US threats to launch a military campaign against Iraq, newspapers reported today.
Saddam raised "certain political issues on the Arab and international scenes," said Ath-Thawra, mouthpiece of the ruling Baath Party. Present at the meeting yesterday were number two Ezzat Ibrahim, vice president Taha Yassin Ramadan, Deputy Prime Minister Tareq Aziz, Foreign Minister Naji Sabri and Oil Minister Amer Mohammad Rashid, the paper said.
Saddam has chaired several meetings of his inner cabinet in recent weeks amid us threats to use force to oust his regime, which Washington accuses of harbouring terrorists and developing weapons of mass destruction. Bureau Report
