Chennai, Dec 23: Aircel, a cellular company floated by business tycoon, C Sivasankaran, today announced a novel "talk and take" tariff plan for its customers, under which the company would reward rupee one payable for every minute of the outgoing airtime used by them.
Giving details about the new tariff plan, Sivasankaran told reporters the company would repay its existing customers using its post paid services, the amount for the calls they made at the end of the fifth year.
However, a ceiling of Rs 20,400 had been fixed for repayment. The company also introduced a new plan for its new customers, under which they had to pay a one time payment of Rs 19,500. They would be entitled free airtime upto 1200 minutes per month after which they would be charged Rs.1.20 for a minute call upto five years. Normal rates will be charged after this period.
Aircel, which had been authorised to operate in Tamil Nadu barring Chennai, would have a tie-up soon with cell operators in the city for its operations, he said.
