Los Angeles, June 07: Actress Sandra Bullock on Friday won a restraining order against a man she claimed had stalked her across three states and who bombarded her with gifts, e-mails, faxes and voicemails. Thomas James Weldon, 34, failed to appear in a Los Angeles court for the hearing at which he was ordered to stay 200 yards from the "Miss Congeniality" star and have no contact with her for three years.

Bullock said in her complaint that although she had never seen Weldon, he had followed her from his native Michigan to Texas, where she has a home, and to California, faxing her letters asking for a date and sending her gifts including red nail polish.
Her lawyer said Weldon had acknowledged that he suffered from paranoid schizophrenia for which he refuses to take medication.
"He was faxing her, sending her voicemails, sending boxes of stuff. There was erratic behavior, he wouldn't send anything for weeks, then would send boxes for six straight days. It was potentially dangerous," said Bullock's lawyer Edwin McPherson. Bureau Report
