Lucknow, Dec 19: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today submitted a sealed chargesheet against Samajwadi Party MLA and former Uttar Pradesh Minister Amarmani Tripathi and five others in the sensational Madhumita Shukla murder case. The investigative agency filed the chargesheet exactly six months and two days after it took over the investigations from the state CID on June 17.

Since CBI special Judge Rammurti Yadav was not present, the agency sleuths submitted a sealed chargesheet before Judicial Magistrate-I Rita Gupta. The court concerned would take cognizance of the chargesheet at a later date.

The five others named in the chargesheet are Amarmani`s maternal cousin Rohit Chaturvedi, two contract killers Santosh Rai and Prakash Chandra Pandey, police senior sub-inspector Yajna Narain Dikshit, who had allegedly tampered with the evidence, and Amarmani`s wife Madhumani.

Madhumani, who is absconding, has been mentioned in column two of the chargesheet.
