London, July 06: Todd Woodbridge bowed out of the Wimbledon mixed doubles today when the Australian and Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova lost their semi-final to Czech Leos Friedl and South Africa's Liezel Huber 6-4 7-5. Woodbridge, 32, yesterday collected his 76th doubles title - and modern day record eighth at Wimbledon when he and Sweden's Jonas Bjorkman beat Mahesh Bhupathi of India and Max Mirnyi of Belarus. The Australian, who won six of his eight titles here with now retired Mark Woodforde, therefore missed out on a 19th grand slam doubles final - and a potential match against John McEnroe, who had called for a 'playoff' between them if Woodbridge levelled his career doubles haul of 77 titles. Tenth seeds Friedl and Huber were later to face fifth seeds Martina Navratilova, bidding to level Billie Jean King's Wimbledon all-time record haul of 20 overall titles here, and India's Leander Paes in the final.
