Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 25: Id-ul-Fitr, marking the end of the fasting month of Ramzan, was celebrated with traditional fervour and piety in Kerala today. Faithfuls in large numbers turned up for Namaz at specially arranged Idgahs here and other centres across the state.
In many places, women and children also turned up to offer the Namaz.
Chief Minister A K Antony, opposition leader V S Achuthanandan and Indian Union Muslim League supremo Panakkad Syed Muhammadali Shihab Thangal greeted the people on the occasion.
In his message, Antony wished that the spiritual strength gained through month-long fasting and prayers be helpful to foster social harmony, peace and collective well-being.
