Jammu, Sept 04: In the first find of its kind, a sophisticated close circuit TV has been recovered from the house in Srinagar where Jaish-e-Mohammad's operational commander in Kashmir Gazi Baba was killed in an encounter with BSF, a senior official said today. The two-inch CCTV, possibly of foreign-make, was recovered from the debris of the house, BSF IG Vijay Raman told a news agency over phone.

It was a chance find, he said. The CCTV had helped Gazi Baba and other terrorists keep a watch on the movements outside the house while they were inside. "The way one of our officers was hit by terrorist fire during the encounter in Noorbagh area last Saturday could not be possible unless the movements of our personnel were being closely watched," Raman said.

He said the force expected to recover more such hi-tech gadgets from the debris as efforts were on to find the remnants of the monitor of the CCTV. He said BSF had intercepted conversation between terrorists after Gazi Baba's killing, in which they were heard saying that they would be targeting families of those who tipped off the BSF.

"My informer is a Pakistani and his safety has been ensured," the IG said.

BSF has created a "good intelligence base" in Pakistan which was helping it in its anti-terrorist operations in Jammu and Kashmir, he added.
