Lucknow, Aug 24: CPI(M) today demanded that the proposed 'dharmayudh rath yatra' by Bajrang Dal in Uttar Pradesh from October 14 next be banned as it could lead to a situation like "Gujarat."
An announcement on the dharmayudh yatra was made by the state Convenor of Bajrang Dal, Ramesh Dixit to the media yesterday said CPM secretary Sumer Yadav noting that "if the yatra was allowed through the state it would create a Gujarat like situation".
The Bajrang Dal wants to take out a rath yatra on the lines of Narenda Modi's proposed 'gaurav yatra in Gujarat, Yadav said in a statement appealing to all the secular parties to unitedly defeat the designs of the Bajrang Dal.
