Raghogarh (MP), Dec 01: Alleging that the Centre was fighting elections in Madhya Pradesh and not the BJP, Chief Minister Digvijay Singh today expressed confidence about the Congress performing a hat-trick in the assembly polls. Speaking to reporters after casting his vote, he said that the Congress would get 125 to 135 seats. "I have delivered my googly and on December four, I will down even the third stump of the BJP," he quipped.

Referring to the presence of Union Minister of State for Home I D Swami in Raghogarh as a BJP observer, he said that he would get a good majority in his constituency and matters would not be different even if they had posted Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani.

Asked about poll surveys that predicted his doom, the Chief Minister said they were carried out in an unscientific way and added that surveys don't decide the electoral outcome but people.

BJP national secretary Shivraj Singh Chauhan, the main rival of the chief minister in the constituency, expressed confidence that he would cause an upset for Singh by inflicting defeat on him.

The Chief Minister had said that he will not come to the constituency after filing of papers, but actually made eight trips here, which showed that he was facing a keen contest, Chauhan said.
