New Delhi, Oct 08: Senior Congress leaders Manmohan Singh, Moti Lal Vora, Pranab Mukherjee and G. Venkataswami have been appointed as chairmen of the screening committees to scrutinise the party's candidates in Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhatissgarh for the coming assembly polls. While party treasurer Vora would be heading the Delhi screening committee, leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Singh, would chair the committee for Rajasthan, party sources said.
AICC general secretaries Ahmed Patel and Oscar Fernandes, Chief Minister Shiela Dixit and PCC chief Prem Singh are the other members of the Delhi screening committee. Party general secretary Ambika Soni, senior party leader K D Sultanpuri, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and PCC chief Girija Vyas are the other members of the committee on Rajasthan.
AICC general secretary Vilasrao Deshmukh, Madhavsinh Solanki, Chief Minister Ajit Jogi and PCC chief Ramanuj Yadav are the members of the Chhatissgarh committee headed by Mukherjee. The Madhya Pradesh screening committee headed by Venkataswami included Ambika Soni, G N Azad, Chief Minister Digvijay Singh and PCC chief Radhakrishna Malviya, the sources said. Bureau Report
