New Delhi, Aug 29: Outlining his vision of developed India, President A P J Abdul Kalam today said he would like to see the Prime Minister of India sitting in the meetings of Group of eight most developed nations of the world.
"This will happen only when India becomes economically strong and for that the government must have a vision," he said during an interaction with students from various schools of the country who have come here to participate in the first computer literacy excellence awards organised by Ministry of Communication and IT.
Ever since 1947, India has remained a developing nation and the time has come to transform India into a developed nation, he said adding that department of science and technology has prepared a vision 2020 and the government must look at and implement the identified areas into practice.
The most important areas are agriculture and food processing, Kalam said adding development of agricultural sector alone would not be sufficient and there must be value addition to it from the food processing units.

Education and health care are other identified areas which need immediate attention of the government and then information and computer technology, he said.
Emphasising the role of schools and mode of teaching in his address, Kalam said "our schools have a great mission to ignite the minds of the young."
