250 "Kar Sevaks", on way to Ayodhya, were arrested at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus in Mumbai on Saturday when they were about to board the Pushpak Express, police said. The karsevaks were arrested under different Sections of Bombay Police Act.
The karsevaks raised slogans against the police and said they were determined to go to Ayodhya. Tight security was in place at the station where police pressed dog squads into service to look for suspicious objects, police added.
Railway authorities stopped issuing platform tickets and allowed only travellers holding genuine tickets to enter platform no. 14 from where Pushpak Express was to leave, they said. Bureau Report
