The International Security Force in Kabul should deploy throughout Afghanistan to reinforce central power and rein in regional warlords, Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf said in an interview.
Soldiers from the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) must leave Kabul and be seen in the farthest corners of the country, France's Le Figaro quoted Musharraf in French as saying, adding the war is over.

“There's no other way to get the warlords to understand that from now on they must accept central power... We must reduce the influence of the minor leaders and give the Kabul government its proper stature,” he added.
“If the international force... Leaves too quickly, the tribes will go to war again, Musharraf told the newspaper underlining the risk of Afghanistan exploding is a real worry... “That's why the international community must make reinforcing central power a priority.”
Musharraf said he thought that al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden -- blamed for the September 11 attacks -- was probably dead, killed by a bomb or by kidney disease, adding that bin Laden's Taliban protectors were no longer a fighting force.
