Srinagar, Nov 07: As many as 20 government officials, including 11 doctors, have been suspended by the Jammu and Kashmir administration for being absent from duty during surprise checks at various places in south Kashmir's Anantnag district, official sources said here today. Deputy Commissioner A H Samoon went on a surprise visit to district hospital Anantnag yesterday and found 11 doctors and two paramedical staff absent from duty, the sources said.


Some of the absent officials had already signed in for today's attendance as well, they said adding, Samoon placed all the erring officials under suspension.


Meanwhile, director school education, Kashmir, G A Peer suspended seven teachers of government middle school in village Hutmurah in the district when he found them absent from duty during a surprise checking.

Peer directed chief education officer, Anantnag to inquire into the matter and submit the report within a week so that further disciplinary action could be taken.
