New York, June 07: Following a handful of appearances on Midwest festival bills to open in July, the Wallflowers will head west for a brief "semi-acoustic tour," according to the band's official Web site (http://www.wallflowers.com). The club tour will kick off July 11 in San Diego and play 13 shows before closing July 27 in Boulder, Colo. Dean Delray will open all of the shows.
The site offers access to tickets before they go on sale to the public. As of Thursday, tickets to six of the shows were made available to registered members.
The group's festival tour gets underway July 2 with the Taste of Minnesota event in Minneapolis. Also included is a stop the next day at Kansas City's annual SpiritFest, and July 6 at Milwaukee's Summerfest.
The band recently recorded a version of Van Morrison's "Into the Mystic" for the soundtrack to "American Wedding" (the third film in the "American Pie" franchise). Due Aug. 1 in U.S. theaters, the feature was directed by Jesse Dylan ("How High"), brother of Wallflowers frontman Jakob Dylan.
The Wallflowers will be touring in support of their latest Interscope album, "Red Letter Days." Released in November, the set debuted at No. 32 on The Billboard 200.
