Speculations are rife that the cancellation happened because of the fatwa issued against Rahman.

However, according to the organisers, Rahman cancelled the show due to unfortunate circumstances. But the exact reason hasn't been disclosed as yet.

Recently, a Mumbai-based Sunni Muslim group issued a fatwa against Majid Majidi and Rahman for the film 'Muhammad: Messenger Of God'. Rahman has reportedly scored music for the same.

According to ToI report, a member from Rahman's team said, "We had to cancel our visit to Delhi owing to Rahman's work commitments. He is travelling to Europe for work and could not be in Delhi. We are not releasing any official statement on this so far."
