Muzaffarnagar (UP), Aug 02: Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) today threatened to launch an agitation against the Uttar Pradesh government's decision to hand over more than twenty cooperative sugar mills on lease to private parties, claiming it would only "add to problems" faced by sugarcane growers. The state government's decision to give 24 co-operative sugar mills on lease would create more problems for cane growers already burdened by the wrong sugarcane policy of the Maywati government, BKU spokesman Rakesh Tikait told reporters here. "A Panchayat of the BKU will be held in Mathura from August 17 to chalk out the details of the agitation," Tikait said. Bureau Report
