Mufti takes up mysterious death of sheikh with Punjab CM
Srinagar, July 16: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has taken up the matter of mysterious death of prominent Kashmiri singer Ghulam Nabi Sheikh during his travel from Jammu to New Delhi with Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh.

Condoling the death of Sheikh, the programme executive of
Srinagar unit of Prasar Bharti, Mufti said he has taken up the
matter with his punjab counterpart to know the circumstances
leading to his death.
His body was found on railway track, two kms from mookeria in Punjab last night. In a message, Mufti appreciated the services of Sheikh in promoting Kashmiri culture through music. The late singer popularised Kashmiri Gazal through the medium of radio and television as also through performing at cultural shows, the chief minister said.
His services would be remembered for long by the lovers of Kashmir music and art, he added.
