Los Angeles, Nov 01: California's colourful election to choose a new governor, won in early October by Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger, is taking a fresh twist as the contest is turned into a porn movie.

One of the candidates in the gubernatorial race, adult actress Mary Carey, is poised to begin shooting a sexy behind-the-scenes view of the campaign that will co-star fellow hopefuls "Ernie Gropenegger" and the state's lieutenant governor "Spooge Cruztamante", producers said Friday.

The characters' names are eerily reminiscent of those of Schwarzenegger -- accused during his campaign of groping up to 16 women -- and California's current deputy governor, Cruz Bustamante.

"It's kind of like satirical," said Mark Kulkis, president of Kickass Pictures which is producing the simmering politics-themed romp. "Our attorney told us to use different names from those of the real candidates, but I guess it's pretty obvious," he said.

"I think that Mr Bustamante and Mr Schwarzenegger will take it in the fun spirit in which it's intended because we're not being mean-spirited at all with this."

Carey, 23, will play herself in the movie, "offering viewers the naked truth behind her historic California gubernatorial bid that ended with her getting over 10,000 votes and finishing in the top 10 out of a field of 135 candidates," Kulkis said.

The two-hour picture, which begins its three-day shoot on Sunday, will co-star porn star Ron Jeremy as Spooge Cruztamante and muscle-bound X-rated actor Lee Stone as Ernie Gropenegger. Made up of five different vignettes, the movie will show real footage taken from the 23-year-old Carey's campaign to become California's governor, interspersed with saucy new "behind-the-scenes footage," Kulkis said.

In one scene, fantasy gubernatorial hopeful Gropenegger worried that Carey is overtaking him in opinion polls as he gropes his voluptuous assistant, Kulkis said.

During her real-life campaign, Carey campaigned on a platform of taxing breast implants to help close the state's budget gap and distributing pornography to men to reduce testosterone-induced violence in California.
