Imphal, Oct 09: The indefinite curfew, clamped since yesterday in Imphal and Mansipur, was today relaxed for 10 hours from 8 am in view of the improvement in the situation, official sources said. No untoward incident was reported since yesterday and the curfew might be lifted if the situation further improved, the sources said.

Indefinite curfew was clamped yesterday afternoon after widespread violence during the 18-hour general strike called by the United Committee of Manipur against the release of 13 members of the Naga militant outfit NSCN (I-M) by the Manipur government without any condition.
The sources said that police and para-military forces were still deployed at all vulnerable points to prevent any untoward incident.
