Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 14: A 'Clean Kerala’ mission would soon be implemented in the state to promote tourism and improve the health of the people, Chief Minister A K Antony said today. Taking serious note of the grave situation emerging in the state due to the piling up of garbage in many parts, Antony, talking to reporters after a cabinet meeting, said government would implement the mission on a war-footing.
It has been decided to sanction Rs. one crore immediately for the project, he said.
Antony said unhygienic conditions prevailing in many parts had become a major stumbling block for the development of the state particularly the tourism sector. It had also started affecting the health of the people with appearance of new diseases, he said.
