London, July 4: A marble statue of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher has been beheaded at a London gallery in what a city administration official called ''an act of destructive rage''. The statue of the 76-year-old ''Iron Lady'' had been destined for a permanent place in the London parliament building at the entrance to the commons chamber, near a statue of war-time prime minister Sir Winston Churchill.
Police said a man was arrested after he managed to behead the larger-than-life statue yesterday with a wire in the attack at a gallery where it had only recently gone on initial display. Bureau Report
