Islamabad, June 16: Accusing India of making "cynical" attempts to portray Kashmiri's "struggle for self-determination" as terrorism, Pakistan Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali has demanded implementation of the UN resolutions on Kashmir, termed by New Delhi as outdated. "Kashmiri's valiant struggle for their right to self-determination is cynically sought to be portrayed by India as terrorism," Jamali was quoted as saying by Pak’s official at a banquet hosted in honour of visiting Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdagon here yesterday.
"The people of Jammu and Kashmir have been struggling for their right to self-determination pledged to them by the UN Security Council more than half a century back," he said. Jamali said Pakistan condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and has been the first country to join the international coalition in the war against terror. “However, “ he said, “while combating international terrorism, the world community must also address, simultaneously, the root causes of terrorism, particularly economic deprivation, inequality, injustice, foreign occupation, denial of fundamental rights and oppression."
