Bharatpur, June 11: State BJP chief Vasundhara Raje today began the sixth leg of her 'parivartan yatra' with a call to oust Congress in the coming assembly elections. "Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is making populist announcements daily to woo the electorate but the people are wise enough to see through his game plan and they would throw out the congress from power in the state in the coming polls," Raje said addressing a public meeting before starting the yatra. The state government had "failed" to do anything for any section of the society because its "inefficient" functioning rendered all major schemes for uplift of poor "useless" despite availability of funds, Raje charged.
The Centre had so far extended financial assistance of Rs.7,000 crores under various schemes to Rajasthan but still the chief minister was complaining against the Vajpayee government which was nothing but a politically motivated charge, she said. An independent MLA from Deeg in Bharatpur district Arun Singh joined BJP on this occasion.
Singh said he would work for the victory of BJP in the coming elections and would himself contest the poll only if the party gave him a ticket. Bureau Report
