New Delhi, Mar 25: Janata Party today accused the
Centre of merely following a policy of "Pakistan baiting" to
cover up its "incompetence" that led to killings in Jammu and
Kashmir and demanded a "retaliatory action" that would deter
future attempts by terrorists.
Demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Atal Bihari
Vajpayee and Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani and the
dismissal of "hotch-potch" Jammu and Kashmir government,
Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy told reporters that
the recent killing of Kashmir pundits proved that the RSS
brand of Hindutva could neither protect Hindus nor inspire the
minorities.
"The Pakistan baiting is a cover for the government's
incompetence", he said, adding if the government really
believed that it was Pakistan that has sponsored this perfidy
and the killers came from training camps in PoK, then the
government must demonstrate the power and resolve of its one
million people by launching air strikes against those training
camps, "even to risk all out war".
On the US-led war in Iraq, Swamy said that in the long
term national interest and for promoting national security,
India should support the US action unconditionally.
He also said that efforts were on for a merger between his party and the All India Janata Dal headed by S R Bommai.
