Curfew remained in force in Ahmedabad and Vadodara on Sunday. Sporadic incidents were reported overnight from different parts of the state. Police said that the situation was still tense but under control. No major incident had been reported from the curfew-bound areas of the walled city on Saturday night. In Dariapur, police burst petrol bombs and teargas shells to disperse the mobs that had gathered there. In Behrampura under Kagdapith police station area stone-throwing and firing were reported but there were no casualties. In Madhupura police station area, petrol bombs and sharp weapons were seized on Saturday night. Curfew continued in Shahpur, Kalupur, Karanj, Dariapur and Madhupura police station areas of the walled city of Ahmedabad and in Raopura, Karelibaug and five other police station areas of Vadodara.
Three persons were killed in Ahmedabad and two in Vadodara since the outbreak.
