The Taliban hanged three supporters of Afghan royalist envoy Hamid Karzai after they were caught in a clash with Taliban fighters, the Afghan Islamic press reported on Saturday.
The three were hanged on Friday in Deharwad district of Uruzgan province where Karzai was surprised by Taliban militia, the Pakistan-based AIP said quoting unnamed sources.
The report said that the whereabouts of Karzai and the rest of his followers was unknown. There was no immediate official confirmation from the Taliban or other sources on the fate of Karzai's detained followers.
