Jaipur, Jan 23: The income tax personnel raided the residential and business premises of a Jaipur-based businessman dealing in carpet and textile handicrafts and detected alleged concealment of income worth crores of rupees, according to an official release here today. The personnel of IT's investigation wing conducted searches at the residential and business premises of the businessman yesterday, the release said quoting Director-General (Investigation) M N Verma who led the raid party.

A total of 12 premises were simultaneously searched which included houses of four employees and a house wherein the family was storing documents and books of account revealing the alleged concealment of income, according to the release.
The business group having sales of rs.84 lakh last year alone disclosed to the IT Department only the export sales or sales made to foreign tourists through credit cards, the release said.

The searches led to seizure of complete sets of duplicate books of accounts which revealed that substantial amount of over-the-counter sale in foreign currency and in Indian Rupee was not disclosed to IT Department, it said.
