New Delhi, Mar 09: Domestic drug giant Ranbaxy laboratories Ltd has crossed its one billion dollars global sales target last month.
In 1993, the city-based drug maker had enunciated its vision to become a one-billion dollar company by 2004.
The company credits its successful achievement to the combined efforts of the over 9,000 strong Ranbaxy family. Ranbaxy expects to nudge the two-billion dollar sales figure by 2007, the first milestone of its vision Garuda - a planned strategy to help the company sustain its growth and achieve its mission to be a ''global research-based pharmaceutical company'' with an emphasis on research into novel drug delivery systems and drug delivery research.
Ranbaxy plans to hit the five-billion dollars sales target by 2012.
