New Delhi, Dec 05: The government today told the Rajya Sabha that it will introduce a Bill to safeguard the interest of unorganised labour in the country during the budget session of Parliament. Replying to supplementaries during the Question Hour, Labour Minister Sahib Singh Verma said his ministry had sought views of various quarters to be incorporated in the Bill to make it a comprehensive legislation.

"I have written letters to Members of Parliament and to other organisations, eliciting their views on the component of the Unorganised Labour Bill," Verma said.

Chairman Bhairon Singh Shekhawat asked the minister whether the concern of MPs regarding the plight of tribals and women who are engaged as domestic help would also be addressed.
Verma said the entire gamut of unorganised labour was proposed to be incorporated in the Bill. Bureau Report
