Indian Wells, Mar 20: American third seed Lindsay Davenport beat Nathalie Dechy in straight sets to reach the final of the Pacific Open in Indian Wells. Davenport fired 10 aces and hammered 37 winners en route to a 6-4 7-6 (7/4) victory on Friday. Her win sets up a title clash with either Justin Henin-Hardenne or Russian fourth seed Anastasia Myskina. Davenport has been in five of the last eight singles finals and is trying to win her third Indian Wells title since 1997.

She won the first five games of the first set and looked to be headed for another easy demolition in straight sets when Dechy stepped up a gear early in the second set.
"I played a couple of sloppy games and let her back in it, and then she started to play with a lot more confidence," the 27-year-old added.
