New Delhi, Dec 10: Leading Indian telecoms service provider Bharti group says it plans to merge three firms offering fixed-line, long-distance and Internet and V-SAT services to provide a one-stop shop for clients. "The customer is looking at a single solution provider who will be responsible for his complete communication requirements," Bharti group chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal said in a statement.

Bharti, 16 per cent owned by Singapore Telecommunications Ltd, said it would club fixed-lines phone firm Bharti Telenet, long-distance service provider Bharti Telesonic and Bharti Broadband into a new entity, Bharti Infotel Ltd.

The new company will be a fully owned subsidiary of Bharti Tele-Ventures Ltd, the group's only listed firm, while the three entities will be managed independently as separate units by their own chief executives.
The merger will be carried out after regulatory and other approvals, the New Delhi-based company said in the statement.
