Australia, June26: Australian Stephen Leaney is still searching for a new caddy after Steve Rawlinson left him to work with Colin Montgomerie. Leaney finished as runner-up in the US Open 10 days ago and currently lies third on the European Order of Merit.
But the 34-year-old is struggling to find someone to carry his bag on a full-time basis ahead of the French Open in Paris next week.
"It's surprising when you are number 23 in the world and you can't find a caddie, but I haven't found someone I can commit to for the rest of the year", said the Australian. Leaney's performance in Chicago has opened the door to the US Tour and Leaney hopes this will help him in his search for an experienced caddy.

Prior to the US Open he was working with Rawlinson, but the Geordie left him in controversial circumstances to link up with Montgomerie.

"I've had four in the last five weeks," continued Leaney.

"Now I've got Pete Coleman (Bernhard Langer's long-time partner) to fill in, but they are working next week, so I haven't got anyone lined up.

"I've had a dozen ask me what I am doing, but I've only four more events in Europe this season.

"I am not that demanding as long as I can talk cricket and football and have a joke. But it's difficult to find someone like that not already on a great - and I'm not going to steal someone.

"If they want to leave of their own accord that is fine, but I am not going to say I want so and so," he added.
