At least six people, including a police commando, were killed by tribal rebels in remote northeast, police said on Sunday.
A police spokesman said suspected National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) rebels fired at a car in Arunachal Pradesh state's Changlang district on Saturday killing four civilians, including three women.
He said three other civilians in the car were wounded in the firing and that the rebels escaped after the killings.
Also on Saturday, suspected militants of the Dima Halong Dagah (DHD) group launched a grenade attack on a convoy carrying police commandos in Assam state's Karbi Anglong district, the spokesman said.
One commando and the driver of one of the four vehicles were killed in the attack and three commandos were wounded, he said.
The DHD is a militant group fighting for political autonomy in the hill district and accuses the government of neglecting their welfare and flooding the area with outsiders. Bureau Report
