New Delhi, Oct 26: A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking 'appropriate' action against VHP leader Pravin Togadia for his reported utterances against Congress president Sonia Gandhi and minorities was filed today in the Delhi High Court.
According to petitioner Anel Sirohi, the PIL filed in the High Court registry is likely to come up for hearing on Monday.
Besides seeking initiation of criminal and other proceedings under law against Togadia, the petition also sought a direction to Centre to restrain him from indulging in such acts in future.
Togadia's remarks were directed to outrage religious feelings of minorities and promote enimosity between different communities and religious groups, it said adding the imputations were nothing short of prejudicial to national integration.

Accusing the VHP leader of spreading "politics of hate", the PIL said his actions were without any regard to the "decency, decorum, respect for law and has put the entire nation to shame".
Togadia's alleged utterance against Gandhi were not concerning the congress alone but had larger implications, the petitioner said.
