Senior Chinese and Nepalese foreign ministry officials have held consultations on bilateral issues and discussed the situation in South Asia, an official report said on Thursday. Chinese foreign minister Tang Jiaxuan met with Nepalese foreign secretary Thapa, who came to attend the fourth-round of negotiations between the two foreign ministries.
Tang had friendly talks with Thapa, who had earlier exchanged views with Chinese vice foreign minister Wang Yi on China-Nepal relations and the present situation in South Asia, Xinhua news agency said without giving details of their talks. Thapa is the senior-most Nepalese foreign ministry official to visit China since June when King Birendra was assassinated.
Another high-level Nepalese delegation is currently visiting China, a separate report said.
