New Delhi, Oct 26: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi today claimed that no fresh case of dengue has been reported even as a Delhi Police constable died of the disease.
Thirty-eight-year-old Birendra Singh, who was admitted to a city hospital two days back, died this morning, police said.
MCD claimed in a press release that it has not received report of any new cases of dengue and the total number of cases reported with the civic body till today stood at 1,898.
The reason for under-reporting could be attributed to the festival-weekend, it said. This year 24 patients have died of dengue during September-October in various hospitals in Delhi, MCD said.

Of the 1,898 dengue cases reported so far, Delhi accounts for 1,520, Uttar Pradesh 155, Haryana 67, Rajasthan six and other states 30, the release said adding 40 cases remained untraceable and addresses were not mentioned in 80 cases.
