Nagpur, Aug 05: A huge arms cache, comprising cartridges, rifles and explosives was recovered by police during its drive against the naxalites in Gadchiroli district in eastern Maharashtra, police said here today. Live cartridges of nine mm pistols, 12 bore rifles, empty cases of SLR Rifles, AK 47 Rifles, explosives meant for land mines, 16 Sutli bombs, battery charger, extension board and tape recorders were recovered during the raid at Toynar village in Bhamragarh tehsil yesterday, police said.

First aid kits, few medicines, plastic tents and naxal literature in Hindi and Telugu was also recovered during the raid. Offences under relevant sections have been registered against the untraced naxalites, police said adding, it is suspected that the ultras were running an illegal factory of explosives, country made firearms in the nearby areas in deep forests.
