Advocates of Allahabad High Court would campaign "extensively" to ensure the defeat of BJP candidates in Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls, protesting the "silence" adopted by BJP legislators and ministers during their 75-day long agitation against the proposed move to set up a High Court Bench in western Uttar Pradesh, 'Lawyers Mahapanchayat' chairman A D Giri said on Sunday.
The lawyers would identity the "most winnable" among the non-BJP candidates in each constituency of about 30 districts and work for them to ensure the defeat of BJP nominee, Giri told reporters in Allahabad.
"BJP MPs, MLAs and ministers were maintaining silence while we undertook 75-day long agitation against the proposed move to bifurcate the Allahabad High Court by setting up a Bench in western UP," he said. Bureau Report
