New Delhi, July 11: Prosecution in the Tandoor murder case cited expert opinion and told a city court today that two bullets recovered from the body of Naina Sahni - wife of former youth Congress leader and prime accused Sushil Sharma - were fired from the revolver seized from him. Referring to the testimony of Roop Singh, a ballistic expert with Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL), prosecution counsel A P Ahluwalia told additional sessions judge G P Thareja that the bullets found in Sahni's body were shot from a .32 bore revolver confiscated from Sharma. The revolver had been fired and was in working condition, the counsel said. Pointing to the statement given by another expert, Rajender Singh of CFSL's physics department, Ahluwalia said the key recovered from Sharma's briefcase was that of the car which he used on the night of the incident as they could open and start the vehicle with it. The counsel said Roop Singh had examined fired lead bullet recovered from Sharma's Mandir Marg flat in the capital, plywood with a bullet hole, air pistol, five empty catridges and the revolver with four live catridges.

Rajender Singh had done tests on partly burned wooden logs recovered from the Tandoor at Baghiya restaurant, Sahni's metallic hair clip with a bunch of hair and burnt cloth, Ahluwalia said.

Police had recovered parts of the burnt body of Sahni from the Tandoor at Baghiya in Ashok Yatri Nivas here on the intervening night of July 2/3, 1995.
