Kolkata, Dec 05: The Election Commission has allowed nine recognised political parties in West Bengal for bulk submission of forms regarding inclusion, deletion, correction and transposition of voters' names for the revised lists, but warned of penal action, including jail terms and fines, in case of false submission. State's Chief Electoral Officer Basudev Bandyopadhyay told a press conference here that for the first time such a decision was taken by the EC for the nine recognised political parties including CPI(M), CPI, Forward Bloc, RSP, Congress, BJP, Trinamool Congress, NCP and BSP.
All these political parties have to file their submissions along with covering certificates in favour of the genuineness of the papers filed, the CEO said.
''False submissions could compel one year's jail along with a fine'', Bandyopadhyay said.
The CEO said that the summary revision of electoral rolls with reference to January one, 2004, as the qualifying date would start with effect from December eight, 2003, with the publication of draft electoral roll in all polling stations in the state.

Special campaigns would be held statewide on December 27 and 28 with the help of all the contestants in the last panchayat elections in the state as part of awareness drive, the CEO said.
