New Delhi, Mar 01: BJP today ruled out change of Jharkhand Chief Minister Babulal Marandi and has asked its alliance partners Samata Party and JD(U) to rein in their ministers who had raised a banner of revolt against him. "There is no question of change of leadership in the state and we will be talking to Samata Party and JD (U) leaders and ask them to tell their ministers not to precipitate any crisis," BJP President M Venkaiah Naidu said. He was briefing reporters after two rounds of meeting Marandi had with senior party leaders, including Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani, general secretaries Rajnath Singh and Pramod Mahajan. "I am confident that we will be able to sort out the differences and we have had a detailed discussion on the prevailing political situation in the state," Naidu said.
After the two rounds of talks, Marandi sought to play down the crisis saying there was no revolt against his leadership. The chief minister, who later left for Ranchi, said he was ready to sort out the problems with the dissidents and that he would speak to Samata and JD (U) leaders to resolve the crisis.
"Marandi is not facing any problem. He enjoys majority support," Mahajan said.
