Madarsa Board, its chairman Allaudin Azad said here today.
The Rajasthan Board of Muslim Waqfs was hitherto looking
after them, Azad told reporters.
The madarsa board had now been assigned to register madarsas, make selections, appointments and payments of honorarium to teachers and arrange for their trainings, he said. The board has also been made responsible for purchasing educational materials and supplying them to madarsas from the funds provided by the state government and for making free distribution of text books, he added.
Replying to a query, Azad denied charges of anti-national activities in madarsas and added that the Muslim teaching institutions were promoting patriotism
