Bangalore, Sept 20: Four Japanese experts have joined foundaries of Maruti Udyog Limited's current component suppliers to help increase production on a daily basis following continued strike at its leading vendor DCM Engineering, MUL MD Jagadish Khattar said on Saturday. "Four Japanese experts are working with current suppliers so as to increase production...expansion which is taking place daily. We feel encouraged. Things are improving", Khattar told reporters here when asked about the impact of the strike.
Khattar reportedly said last week production and exports continued to suffer due to the strike at DCM Enginnering, which used to supply nearly 70 per cent of cylinder blocks.
Asked if there is a proposal to cut prices of Maruti models during the coming festive season, Khattar replied in negative, saying: "demand is good; pull is good". The company is also not contemplating slashing the price of WagonR which is "very happily priced", he said to a specific query.
Meanwhile, the Rs 9426 crore MUL on Saturday announced that Maruti True Value, which currently buys and sells only pre owned Maruti cars, would now deal with pre owned cars of all non-Maruti brands as well.
