Jammu, Sept 06: Jammu and Kashmir national panthers party today opposed deployment of employees from outside the state for conduct of assembly elections saying it was an "insult" to the government employees in the state.
"Deploying employees from outside the state for election purposes is an insult and denigration to the employees of Jammu and Kashmir who have stood the test of time to counter militancy in the state," JKNPP president Bhim Singh said in a statement here. "Importing of employees from outside is only to facilitate rigging by ruling national conference and BJP as was done in the past by the NC-Congress nexus," he alleged.

Singh said he has sent a letter to the Election Commission of India demanding that polls in the state be held through the ballot paper system and not by a "mechanical device called electronic machines".
Since 20 per cent of voters in the state were not aware of the working of electronic machines, there was every likelihood that they would be used as "rigging machines", he said in his letter to the commission.

The Rashtriya Rifle troops have removed the flags from JKNPP offices in Ramsu and Doda town, which was highly objectionable, Singh said.

The army was not honouring the identity cards issued by the election commission on the pretext that the photos were not stamped by the commission, he alleged. "This is uncalled for interference in the conduct of elections in the state".
Singh asked the EC to intervene and provide full security cover to the president and other office bearers of JKNPP in Doda, Srinagar, Jammu and Poonch.
