The 23-year-old "Same Old Love" hitmaker opened about her illness two months ago.

Speaking about her decision to speak openly, she told the December issue of Billboard magazine that it is something she is still getting used to.

"It has been overwhelming and the response has been very supportive, which is nice - but it still makes me a little uncomfortable.

"I waited for the right time to talk about it because I am in a great place and I'm very healthy. I'm not trying to be loud about it: It was time to use my platform to help."

Gomez previously admitted she did not really "understand" the diagnosis and tried to keep it as private as possible whilst she underwent treatment.

"[It happened] three years ago... That's when I found it and I think it was just very complicated because I didn't understand and then it was something that I did want to keep private until my whole life suddenly wasn't private.

"You'll have it forever. It's kind of one of those situations. You just have to take care of yourself," she had said.
