New Delhi, Apr 13: The Aga Khan, spiritual leader of the Shia Ismaili Muslims, will arrive on a six-day visit to Delhi mainly for discussions with Indian leaders on broadening the framework of activities of the Aga Khan Development Network in the country. He will call on President A P J Abdul Kalam, Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, his deputy L K Advani and other leaders during his stay here. The Aga Khan, who is visiting India after a gap of 11 years, will on April 15 preside at a ceremony to inaugurate the restoration of the Humanyun`s Tomb gardens which has been undertaken by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture in collaboration with the Archaeological Survey of India. He will review progress on the Network`s activities and meet with leaders of the Ismaili Muslim community, which has roots in this country going back many centuries. The network agencies have contributed on a national scale to the improvement of quality of life of the people particularly in the areas of rural development, education, healthcare, micro-credit, financial services, humanitarian assistance and the enhancement of non-governmental organisations.
