Kolkata, June 15: Altogether 70.45 per cent students out of the 5.8 lakh candidates passed the madhyamik (secondary) examination of West Bengal Secondary Education Board this year. Announcing this here today, board president Dibyendu Bikash Hota told newspersons that a total of 3,77,863 students out of 5,80,063 candidates passed the examination with 91,053 obtaining first division. The pass percentage has increased marginally over the last year, he said. In all, 15,898 students got 'star marks' (75 per cent) while 68 students were yet to get their complete results.
The merit list of the first 20 students would be published within two months, he added. Bureau Report
