New York, June 22: `Friends` star and Brad Pitt`s better-half Jennifer Aniston is the most powerful star on the planet, according to the annual `Celebrity 100` list published by Forbes magazine.
New York, June 22: "Friends" star and Brad Pitt’s better-half Jennifer Aniston is the most powerful star on the planet, according to the annual "Celebrity 100" list published by Forbes magazine.
The list, based on a compilation of earning ability and media interest, seeks to rank the most influential entertainers and athletes in the world - although there is a heavy bias towards US celebrities.
Aniston beat out rappers Eminem and Dr. Dre, who tied for second spot ahead of golfer Tiger Woods.
A high-ranking on the Forbes list can be a short lived affair. Teen-idol Britney Spears, who held the number one slot last year, failed to make the cut this time around.
Grabbing the crown of hottest power couple were Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, who placed fifth and seventh respectively. Aniston's husband, however, was absent from the list.
The highest-ranking non-American was former Beatle Paul Mccartney who placed sixth - partly due to the publicity surrounding his marriage with Heather Mills.
On the musical side, this year's list waved goodbye to boy bands like the Backstreet Boys and 'N Sync, while a worldwide tour saw veteran rockers the Rolling Stones jump in at number 10.
Film stars Cameron Diaz, Meg Ryan, Keanu Reeves and Robert De Niro all lost their rankings, making way for the likes of Tom Hanks, Mike Myers and Nicole Kidman.
